Individual Counselling
These are one-to-one sessions where we talk about the things that are making you feel distressed, overwhelmed or worried. The patterns and behaviours you’d like to change.
With a speciality in supporting people after periods of crisis, trauma, or stress, I will share the wisdom gained from working closely with many individuals as they find their footing again.
By taking time to understand what is happening for you, I will use a range of evidence-based and supportive therapies to respond to your individual circumstances. These include Trauma theories, Somatic Experiencing (SE), Internal Family systems Therapy (IFS) with a specialisation in attachment, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy..
Together, we will look at how trauma, stress, anxiety, or unhelpful recurring patterns are affecting your life, and develop practical ways to support change, self-confidence, and emotional regulation. My approach is practical and person-centred, and integrates the body and nervous system. I strongly believe this is essential for healing and lasting positive mental health.
Couples Therapy
Couple therapy can be helpful when you and your partner want to reduce conflict, improve communication, or regain clarity about the direction of your relationship. It is especially supportive during times of crisis, after betrayal, or when important decisions need to be made.
I work with couples experiencing communication difficulties, emotional distance, relationship dissatisfaction, grief, trauma, and ruptures of trust. My approach is collaborative, balanced, and structured — ensuring that both partners feel heard while we move towards practical outcomes.
In our sessions, we first gain clarity on the current dynamics of your relationship and the impact of past and recent experiences. From there, we identify what truly matters to each of you. I introduce practical, evidence-based tools to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and support constructive decision-making.
Sessions are structured and purposeful, offering both insight and concrete strategies you can apply in everyday life. This is a safe and supportive space to gain clarity, reconnect, and grow together.
Support Session after Crisis or Traumatic Event
This service is for individuals, couples, families, and workplace or community groups who need calm, professional support following a traumatic event, crisis, or life-changing diagnosis.
Evidence shows that early, trauma-informed support following sudden or overwhelming events can reduce distress, support emotional regulation, and positively influence longer-term adjustment and recovery. By meeting together in your home, workplace, or my office, we create a safe space to talk about what has occurred. We explore common and understandable responses to shock, trauma, stress, and uncertainty, and identify practical ways to support yourself and one another during this initial period.
Drawing on extensive experience working in hospital settings, including ICU and neurology, and alongside people and families during periods of acute stress and crisis, I can offer practical guidance and referrals to other services where helpful.
Sessions are paced and responsive, with a focus on stabilisation, coping, and restoring a sense of safety and agency.
Online Services
Online and telephone support services have been growing in necessity and popularity over recent years, offering more choice and flexibility in how we receive help. There is strong evidence that mental health support and therapy delivered online is just as effective as face-to-face. Accordingly, all counselling services can be offered online, as well as every training event.
Walk and Talk Therapy
There is strong evidence that time in nature can support psychological and physical wellbeing, helping to reduce stress, regulate emotions, and bring gentle attention to the present moment. During periods of trauma, stress, anxiety, or significant life change, being outdoors can offer a sense of grounding and support that feels different from traditional indoor settings.
For this reason, I offer Walk & Talk Nature Therapy as an alternative way of working together. Sessions take place at your pace, with the option to pause, sit, or rest as needed, and are held away from main paths to support privacy and ease.
For those with mobility considerations, or if preferred, sessions can also be conducted seated in a quiet outdoor setting overlooking one of the park’s natural spaces.
Walk & Talk sessions provide the therapeutic benefits of counselling within a naturally supportive environment, allowing movement, nature, and conversation to work together in a way that feels steady, contained, and responsive.
My primary goal is for my clients to feel safe and seen.
All trauma occurs in relationships, making the client-therapist relationship essential for creating new, safe experiences. My primary goal is for my clients to feel safe, seen, and supported. Sessions focus on exploring self-perception, worldviews, and coping patterns. Body-centered practices are gently introduced to regulate the nervous system and increase awareness.
I work within a developmentally informed and trauma aware perspective. That means I bring trained awareness to the different ways stress and trauma might impact a person's engagement with their life and relationships.
I will provide I helpful insights into neurobiology to deepen understanding of the brain-body connection. And in between sessions, my clients receive resources and practices to promote gentle habit formation and lasting change.
